Kathleen Hwang, MD is a board-certified Urological Surgeon who has completed a 2 year American Urological Association fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine -a centre of excellence in vasectomy reversal, male reproductive and sexual medicine. She specializes in Male Reproductive Microsurgery and is an Assistant Professor of Surgery (Urology) at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University where she teaches. Dr. Hwang completed her Urology residency as well as a surgical internship at the University of Virginia.
She was selected as a course instructor for a microsurgery hands on course given at the national meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. She participates in this recurring course that teaches urologists microsurgical skills, including the tricks of vasectomy reversals.
In addition to being a highly qualified surgeon, Dr. Hwang is also a distinguished researcher in Male Reproductive Biology with grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine as well as others. She has authored more than 30 publications in the areas of male reproduction and sexual function. She is an active member of the premier reproductive medical organizations including the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Society of Andrology, the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction, and the Society of Reproductive Surgeons.
She is a proud mother of two wonderful daughters and enjoys cooking and playing violin in her free time.
